GBMS Continuation & EOY EVENTS

6th Grade

6th Grade Picnic (5/26): On Wednesday May 26th, students will be going outside from approximately 10:30 am-12:00pm for the 6th grade picnic. As a special treat, the 6th grade picnic will feature a barbecue with hamburgers and hot dogs along with shaved ice from The Kona Ice Truck! All students who are currently attending school virtually are invited to the picnic. Online activities will also be provided for those who choose to stay at home.

6th Grade Continuation (5/27): On the last day of school, May 27th, 6th grade will hold an hour long continuation ceremony for eligible students in the school auditorium from 10:00am-11:00am. Unfortunately, parents are not allowed to attend this year due to COVID restrictions and guidelines. If your student is currently attending school virtually the continuation ceremony will be livestreamed and recorded for home viewing. If your student would like to attend the in-person ceremony you may drop them off that day to attend.

7th Grade

7th Grade Picnic (5/26): On Wednesday, May 26th, students will be going outside from approximately 12:00pm to 2:15pm for the 7th grade picnic. As a special treat, the 7th grade picnic will feature a barbecue with hamburgers and hot dogs along with shaved ice and a visit from The Kona Ice Truck and every 7th grader in attendance will be allowed one Kona Shaved Ice! All students who are currently attending school virtually are invited to the picnic. Online activities will also be provided for those who choose to stay at home.

7th Grade Continuation (5/27): On the last day of school, May 27th, 7th grade will hold an hour long continuation ceremony for eligible students in the school auditorium from 9:00am-10:00am. If your student would like to attend the in person ceremony you may drop them off that day to attend.

8th Grade

8th Grade Kickball game (5/20): On Thursday, May 20th, students will be participating in a kickball tournament led by the electives team. It is planned to be an all day event. Here is the link to the bracket! We would love for virtual students and Cohort C to come and join their classmates! Online activities will be provided for students that stay at home. 

8th Grade Boondocks Field Trip (5/21): On Friday, May 21st, 8th grade is planning on going to Boondocks! (11425 Community Center Dr, Northglenn, CO 80233)Transportation needs to be provided from student’s families. Students can arrive there between 10:00am and 10:45 and will need to get picked up between 2:00pm and 2:45.  Once students get there, they will get a card to play games with and lunch! We would love for virtual students and Cohort C to come and join their classmates! Online activities will be provided for students that stay at home. 

8th Grade BBQ (5/27): On Thursday the 27th, the 8th grade will hold the BBQ. Prior to the BBQ, we will have our final continuation practice and rehearsal. The BBQ will take place from approximately 12:00-2:15pm. If any virtual student or Cohort C student is coming to Continuation, it is very important that they come to school in the morning so they can practice for continuation.

8th Grade Continuation (5/27): On Thursday the May 27th at 5:00pm, the 8th grade will hold an approximately hour and a half long continuation ceremony for eligible students on the field. Students are allowed only 2 tickets for family members due to COVID restrictions per DPS guidelines. There will be chairs for students during the ceremony, but families will need to bring their own chairs or a blanket to sit on. If your student or family is not able to come, the continuation ceremony will be livestreamed for home viewing.

6º Grado

BBQ de 6º grado (5/26): El miércoles 26, los estudiantes saldrán de aproximadamente las 10:30 am -12:00 pm para su picnic del 6º grado.. Como regalo especial, ¡el picnic de sexto grado contará con una barbacoa de hamburguesa o perros calientes y un raspado de la Kona Ice Truck! Todos los estudiantes que actualmente asisten a la escuela en persona o virtualmente están invitados al picnic. También se ofrecerán actividades en línea para quienes decidan quedarse en casa.

Continuación del 6º grado (5/27): El último día de clases, se llevará a cabo una ceremonia de continuación de una hora para los estudiantes elegibles en el auditorio de la escuela de 10:00-11:00 am. Desafortunadamente, los padres no pueden asistir este año debido a las restricciones de COVID. Si su estudiante asiste actualmente a la escuela virtualmente, la ceremonia de continuación se transmitirá en vivo y se grabará para verla en casa. Si su estudiante desea asistir a la ceremonia en persona, puede traerlo a la escuela ese día para que asista.

7º Grado

Picnic de 7º grado (5/26): El miércoles 26, los estudiantes saldrán de aproximadamente de las 12:00 pm – 2:15 pm para su picnic del 7º grado. Como regalo especial, el picnic de 7º grado contará con una barbacoa de hamburguesa o perros calientes y un raspado de la visita de la Kona Ice Truck y cada alumno del 7º grado que asista podrá recibir un raspado Kona! Todos los estudiantes que actualmente asisten a la escuela en persona o virtualmente están invitados al picnic. También se ofrecerán actividades en línea para quienes decidan quedarse en casa.

Continuación del 7º grado (5/27): El último día de clases, se llevará a cabo una ceremonia de continuación de una hora para los estudiantes elegibles en el auditorio de la escuela de las 9:00-10:00 am. Desafortunadamente, los padres no pueden asistir este año debido a las restricciones de COVID. Si su estudiante asiste actualmente a la escuela virtualmente, la ceremonia de continuación se transmitirá en vivo para verla en casa. Si su estudiante desea asistir a la ceremonia en persona, puede traerlo a la escuela ese día para que asista.

8º grado

Juego de kickball del 8º grado (5/20): El jueves 20 de mayo, los estudiantes participarán en un torneo de kickball dirigido por el equipo de las clases electivas. Está previsto que sea un evento de todo el día. ¡Aquí está el enlace al soporte! ¡Nos encantaría que los estudiantes virtuales del Grupo C vinieran y se unieran con sus compañeros! Se proporcionarán actividades en línea para los estudiantes que se quedan en casa.

Excursión a Boondocks de 8º grado (5/21): ¡El viernes 21 de mayo, los maestros del 8º grado están planeando ir a Boondocks! (11425 Community Center Dr, Northglenn, CO 80233) El transporte debe ser proporcionado por las familias de los estudiantes. Los estudiantes pueden llegar entre las 9:30-10:00 am y deben ser recogidos antes de las 2:00 pm. Una vez que los estudiantes lleguen, ¡recibirán una tarjeta para jugar y almorzar! ¡Nos encantaría que los estudiantes virtuales del Grupo C vinieran y se unieran con sus compañeros! Se proporcionarán actividades en línea para los estudiantes que se quedan en casa.

BBQ de 8º grado (5/27): El jueves 27 de mayo, el 8º grado llevará a cabo una parrillada de hamburguesas y perros calientes. Antes de la barbacoa, tendremos nuestra práctica y ensayo de continuación final. La barbacoa se llevara acabo aproximadamente de las 12:00 pm-2:15 pm. Si algún estudiante virtual o del Grupo C piensa asistir a la ceremonia de Continuación, es muy importante que venga a la escuela por la mañana para que pueda practicar para la continuación.

Continuación 8º grado (5/27): El jueves 27 de mayo, se llevará a cabo una ceremonia de continuación de aproximadamente hora y media para los estudiantes elegibles en el campo de la escuela. Solo se les permiten 2 boletos para miembros de la familia para cada estudiante. Habrá sillas solamente para los estudiantes durante la ceremonia, pero las familias deben traer sillas o una manta para sentarse. Si su estudiante o su familia no pueden asistir, la ceremonia de continuación se transmitirá en vivo para verla en casa.
